Founded in 1967, Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology is one of the largest colleges in Canada. Popularly known as Algonquin College, it has campuses in Pembroke, Perth and Woodroffe. The college has four international campuses various countries such as India, Kuwait, Montenegro and China. The college offers over 180 programs in various disciplines that attract students from over 100 countries. International students can pursue their higher education in variety of programs ranging from English courses to full-time degree programmes.

Algonquin college mainly focus programs in arts and technology. There are roughly Ontario college programs, 18 apprenticeship programs, 16 co-op programs, 6 collaborative degree programs and 6 bachelor's degree programs. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in a plethora of subjects organised into various faculties. The subjects include Commerce, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Information Technology, Nursing, Building Science, Interior Design, and Public Safety. The college is renowned for its practical method of teaching and quality of research programs. The classroom environments, well equipped labs, practical oriented teaching, inclusive resources, various support facilities, dedicated faculties help students to gain hands on skills that promotes success. The quality of education and skill development provided in the campus helps students to have their dream career.

Different workshops related to various subjects are organized by the college for the students. This helps them to gain exposure and learn about the fieldwork. Students are taken for industrial visits to make them understand the working mode the real world and employer expectation. Students are guided under professionals. The college features a functional radio broadcast station and an internet station which is completely run by the student body.
